Who we are
Our website address is: https://rantransproject.com We are a consortium of nine partners from across the UK and France who are working together on the RaNTrans project – an Interreg project focusing on the development of innovative and cost-effective methods for rapidly reducing algal mat coverage and associated nutrient levels. Specific details about RaNTrans can be found on our ‘About RaNTrans’ page. All consortium partners shall have access to the information you provide to the RaNTrans website. What personal data we collect and why we collect it
We may collect information about your usage of our website as well as information about you where you post or share it via the website or through contact forms. Where you register your interest in the project, or for updates, we will record and store this information to allow us to contact you in this way.
Use of your information
Your information will enable us to provide you with access to all parts of our website and to supply information that may be useful to you. We will also use and analyse the information we collect so that we can support, improve and develop our website and business.
In particular, we may use your information to contact you for your views on the platform and may occasionally need to notify you about important changes or developments to the website as a whole. If you change your mind about being contacted in the future, please let us know.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies are extremely useful as they can quicken up the web journey for you and can also allow a website to recognise a user’s device.
Our tracking cookies collect information about how you browse and use our website, what pages you visit, how you entered the site and where you left it. This data is anonymous and not specific to you yet helps us to make improvements to your web experience by identifying pages where more visitors may be exiting the website or where visitors may be struggling to find necessary information.

Who we share your data with
As set out above, all RaNTrans partners shall have access to the information you provide to the RaNTrans website. In a circumstance where you may provide information to one partner directly, that partner may share the information with the other consortium partners. We may occasionally pass aggregate information on the usage of our website to third parties for research purposes, but this will not include information that can be used to identify you. Unless required or permitted to do so by law, we will not otherwise share, sell or distribute any of the information we hold without prior and relevant consent.
How we protect your data
We employ security measures to protect your information from access by unauthorised persons and against unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction and damage. We will retain your information for a reasonable period or as long as the law requires.
Under certain circumstances, you have rights under data protection laws in relation to your personal data including the right to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you and the right to make a complaint to the relevant supervisory authority, which in the UK is Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), and in France is Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL). Privacy notice for the Interreg France (Channel) England programme
As part of the Interreg programme, the privacy notice on the Interreg ‘Channel Manche’ website is also applicable to the RaNTrans Project.
The privacy notice provides details on how Norfolk County Council may use your personal information for the purposes of the Interreg France (Channel) England programme (the Programme) in their capacity as:

- Certifying authority for payments under the Programme
